Together, Batman and Robin have kept the streets of Gotham City safe-while the boy beneath the mask, Dick Grayson, has kept Bruce Wayne from a lonely life of brooding darkness. Frankly that Clayface story which I went out of my way to seek out after reading this is as good or better than the best tale in Second Chances. Job Number G-3305 Genre superhero Characters Batman [Bruce Wayne]; Robin [Jason Todd]; Alfred Pennyworth; Commissioner James Gordon; Scarecrow [Jonathan Crane] (villain); Joker (villain); Penguin [Oswald Cobblepot] (villain); Two-Face [Harvey Dent] (villain); Riddler [Edward Nigma] (villain); Mr. It isn't all bad, you get a few crazy scenes like Robin covering Batman by firing a 12 gauge at police officers.

Boyd Kirkland has listed this episode among his favorite to have worked on during Batman: The Animated Series, due to its great action scenes and exploration of Two-Face. I'm guessing it's the Jason Todd from 1983-86 that got on reader's nerves and sent the lad into an early grave. This volume is rather curious but much-needed: a collection of some of Jason Todd's earliest adventures as Robin including his "origin" story when Batman catches him stealing the Batmobile's tires. A youth who is a little cocky, a bit brash, and kinda rude taking over the role of America's favorite teen sidekick without so much as a thank you and it ticked fans off. Meanwhile, Two-Face continues to flip his coin and let it hit the ground, but it keeps landing on edge.

Every volume in this brand new series is a hardback book that presents one of the most important superhero tales of recent years. But when a bullet fired from the Joker’s gun nearly clips Robin’s wings for good, their partnership is severed, and Batman resumes his war on crime alone. Discover the origin of one of comics' most controversial characters in SECOND CHANCES-collecting the earliest adventures of Jason Todd, the second Robin, from the minds of legendary creators Max Allan Collins, Jim Starlin, Jim Aparo, Dave Cockrum, Denys Cowan, Norm Breyfogle, Jo Duffy and more! Batman said that only the kidnappers' footprints would be in the OR because the doctors and nurses would wear paper socks over their shoes. While not only about Jason Todd and his becoming the second Robin, this was a collection full of second chances.

These 1988 stories take Batman into police procedural territory, and set the stage for the bestselling Batman: A Death in the Family. Furthermore, there is a lot of emotional complexity at work here, particularly with respect to the unresolved anger Dick harbors toward Batman for being told his sidekick services were no longer necessary.
