It’s possible that, as a result, I unfairly considered extreme fandom to be a bit weird, and for boy band super fans to be obsessive and single-minded.

The 103 third parties who use cookies on this service do so for their purposes of displaying and measuring personalized ads, generating audience insights, and developing and improving products. When you do it right you get a character that feels real to the reader, that translates to the world in a good, organic way.He would be my dad friend , like you know the one who advises you over life and shit , the wise and mature friend! This trombone quartet, composed by my dear friend Jeremy Howard Back, won the ASCAP Morton Gould Young Composer Award and couldn't be more deserving. Many stars seem to go down that road and it makes me really sad whenever I hear that they ended up in rehab.

While Angel only sees the perfect part of being famous, only sees her idols and their smiles, Jimmy is living the reality, and the reality isn’t always pretty. I mean it’s so obvious that they love each other a lot, just not in the way the fandom wants them to. Also since my kid is so little she’d probably be the star in the room and they’d play and goof around with her.

For Angel Rahimi, life is only about one thing: The Ark – a pop-rock trio of teenage boys who are currently taking the world by storm. I’m here mostly to rave about books, but there’ll be a smattering of cosplay, publishing, and general tomfoolery mixed into this bookish cake! Sometimes you have to put your time, energy, and passion into something other than your “real life” to feel like you belong, and that’s valid.

The only thing that is left to be said is that I am desperate to know what The Ark actually sounds like. The band is made up of three boys, all lovable, all incredibly diverse, all young and all attractive.Jimmy also has to figure out how to be his own person when he has a relentless touring schedule for his band and no free time to make “normal” friends or have “normal” experiences while living in London. Her family members, especially her mother, think it’s just a phase and chastise her obsession, but Angel stands strong in her love of the band. Neither of us have any friends in real life who like The Ark, but that doesn’t matter, because we have each other. It didn’t feel forced that each boy had a different sexuality, they just felt like honestly one of my own friendship groups.

His identity is not pivotal for the plot, but it adds color: it is not a problem for the world, for his best friends (and bandmates) nor his fans, but it is something that had repercussion in his life. It’s about teens who love dreaming of being rich and famous and in love, dreaming of a world that is beyond what they have.

For a person who needs music in her life just as much as we need air to breathe, this book was a must read for me. This is a style of storytelling that tends to appeal to me somewhat less, and despite knowing this is the point, I admit to wishing for more. How you can go on and on about your favorite topics, and express yourself to your friends on the internet in a way that may be very hard for you to do in real life.
