Playability is repetitive as you travel back and forth to drop off each gem you collect but the game comes with alternative modes that add tougher challenges and that adds replayability.

When given the same attention as a real baby, she produces over 20 different noises, including coos, babbles, and chuckles. That sells at triple the cost so go for this edition for sure its literally the same and my kids enjoyed using the kid based characters. If you reveal the Shuffle card, you take all the cards and shuffle them to form a new deck for the next draw.

We used the theme to spark our imaginations - and on family walks I would pretend to be The Ogre and race everyone to the treasure waiting at our house. I'd been greatly enjoying the base game with my kids, as well as family friends - with the latter as a casual, easy to pick up game. I have also been able to teach this to a group of 3 rd graders who were able to play the basic game on their own by midway through the first game – and that’s a wonderful trait to have in a game that can also be played by adults. Move – Now you move you player token a number of spaces up to the number on the die (though there is no obligation to move at all if you don’t want to move).

You get to roll both of the battle die and if either die comes up with a Haunting icon then you have defeated the Haunting and it leaves the board. While, in all honestly, you probably could do that, that’s not how this expansion is written to be played. There can only be two ghosts in a room at a time, flip a card that tells you you need to add a third ghost to a room and that room becomes a haunt. Here you’ll find all our top game recommendations so you and your family can play only the best games together!

Movement is more restricted, jewels take longer to claim, so now working together and managing the haunting becomes even more important. But I have no shame to admit that the original version of the game - simply trying to get the treasures out by any means necessary before six rooms are haunted - is still quite enough challenge for us. Instead of a bunch of modules, you get a totally new mode of play, something that, to me, actually feels more like Ghost Fightin’ Treasure Hunters 2. Some of the cards lock certain color doors and others require you to add more ghosts to the mansion.

It's roll to move, which can be a knock against it for sure, but there's still meaningful choices to be made. The way you do that is by travelling to the appropriate room in the cellar while holding one of the treasures. This is such a great game for kids who are at different skill levels yet want to play a game together.
