Description

On their debut, the Fugees had sketched out a pattern similar to the multi-ethnic, edgy music on The Score, but they didn't deliver it with the authority that they do here. Originally released in Feburary 1996, 'The Score' is the second and final studio album by the hip hop trio. We are grateful to Enya for her kindness and consideration in allowing us the use of her track "Song For Boadecia" taken from the album " The Celts" which appears on the song "Ready Or Not" which was initially used without her permission. Even if you had purchased the CD, the pops would still be there because they're used as a sound effect throughout the entire album. Clef, Hill and third member Pras Michael - the man responsible for getting the whole thing rolling in the late '80s - were militant and melodic, fighters for change and devotees of pop music.

The Score's production was handled mostly by the Fugees themselves and Jerry Duplessis, with additional production from Salaam Remi, John Forté, Diamond D, and Shawn King. The Fugees sold over twenty-two million records worldwide and are one of the biggest-selling hip hop groups of all time. The album's guest raps are from Outsidaz members Rah Digga, Young Zee and Pacewon, as well as Omega, John Forté, and Diamond D. The album features a wide range of samples and instrumentation, with many aspects of alternative hip hop that would come to dominate the hip hop music scene in the mid-late 1990s. Second and final studio album by the hip hop trio Fugees, released worldwide February 13, 1996 on Columbia Records.

The first of many of the band’s albums to be produced by Cameron Webb, 'Inferno' became Motörhead’s heaviest album.

Contains a replayed sample from " Ooh La La La" (McGrier/Marie), McNella Music/Midnight Magnet Music. The album features a wide range of samples and instrumentation, with many aspects of alternative hip hop that would come to dominate the scene in the mid-late 90's. Lauryn Hill compared the album to The Who’s ‘Tommy,’ saying that “It's almost like a hip-hop version…like what The Who did for rock music.
